About Me

This is a unique interpretation of the celtic geometric symbol, a Dara-Knot.

My name is Stella, I am a Queer, ENM, neurodivergent Relationship Anarchist. I am a trained and practising Senior Mental Health Occupational Therapist within the NHS, working in an acute female mental health ward. I am also a coach for queer ADHD folk and an embodied yoga teacher.

Story

I left home and school when I was 16 and became a founding member of an anarchistic squat commune at 17. I travelled to many continents. I was a raver, motivated by chemical euphoria, oneness & connection. I worked through every alternative music scene and dance subculture in London. Meanwhile, in my professional life, I sold diamonds to some of the richest people in the world.

The dark side of my hedonistic lifestyle was 10 years of substance abuse which was hidden under the disguise of being ‘highly functioning’, it resulted in hospitalisation. At this point, I was on my knees.  I recovered slowly and made two significant changes; I put myself through higher education and trained as a yoga teacher.  This career change transformed my life,  I developed a reverence for nature and myself and discovered psychedelics. I was happy, but something was missing.

"I Wanted To Serve My Community More Deeply"

I wanted to serve my community more deeply and decided to embark on an MSc in Occupational Therapy (OT). At this time I received a diagnosis of ADHD and dyslexia. This was the missing pearl that led me to cultivate self-compassion and understanding of my chaotic past. I have now learnt that Occupational Therapy offers so much unique insight into neurodiversity.

As the threads drew together, the tapestry of my life was forming.  The irony is, I didn’t need a diagnosis to foster understanding and acceptance. I needed tools, strategies, and education to help me exist in an ableist society that makes it difficult for us neurodivergent folk.

I am now a trained and practising Occupational Therapist within the NHS, working in acute mental health. I continue to teach trauma-informed, embodied yoga and I also offer queer, neurodivergent coaching.  I am grateful to have alchemised the parts of my journey that were painful into services for my community. Whoever you are, whatever your story, I know that at times it feels too much, and at times it has been lonely.  If you ever need someone on your side, I'm here.
