'RELINQUISHING OUR LEAVES' - Feel. Move. Express: Embodied Movement for Self Discovery

You are invited to Autumn Equinox: Feel. Move Express: Embodied Movement for Self Discovery

In Autumn the trees relinquish their leaves to the Earth like tears. The leaves then decay, turn to mulch and over time nourish the Earth.

During our time together we will shake off and discharge our old leaves through mindful, embodied movement. There will also be opportunities for journaling allowing more clarity to move with purpose in the changing season.

Please Note: This is not a 'dance class' you will not be taught any steps or choreography. You can't move your body incorrectly in this space. You can't get it wrong!

This event is suitable for  EVERYBODY: complete beginners, yoga teachers and practitioners, bodyworkers, dancers, ... anyone who is curious about moving their animal body in a way that is non-dogmatic and non-prescriptive.

The event will include:

• Welcome & opening ceremony

• Feel. Move. Express (to music- expect beats, drums, bass and eclectic music from around the world)

• Journaling

• Mixed sharing circle means all humans are welcome. (Sharing is encouraged but completely optional)

• Closing ritual & end of the ceremony

Stella has trained extensively with Julie Martin founder of Brahmani Yoga. Her training includes 350 hours of level two teacher training and 50 hours of Sacred Dance. Julie's methodology is distinctively different from ecstatic dance or 5 rhythms in that there is more holding, more structure and higher levels of group cohesion and a felt sense of safety.

Terms and Conditions 

1. Please bring your own blanket for relaxation and cosy socks- you do not need a mat

2. Ceremonies and mixed circles are non-refundable.

3. We know that life happens, in the event that something comes up and you can not attend you are required to give a minimum of 24 hour notice to transfer to a future event.

4. Please arrive 15-20 mins before class starts so that we can start promptly late comers disrupt the continuity of the group.

5. If you are more than 10 mins late for a ceremony and mixed circle unfortunately you will not be able to enter. There is no reception at the Friends Meeting House and latecomers disrupt the continuity of the group.

6. In the event that there are unforeseen circumstances that require the event to be cancelled, you will receive a full refund.

7. Etiquette inside the Friends Meeting House. We are guests inside this beautiful space. Please be mindful that you turn off all taps and lights, remove shoes before entering the rooms, wash up your mugs, throw away your rubbish and double-check that you have all of your belongings before you leave.
